gimp-plugin-registry software package provides repository of optional extensions for GIMP, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gimp-plugin-registry
gimp-plugin-registry is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gimp-plugin-registry package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gimp-plugin-registry *
You will get with gimp-plugin-registry package name, version, architecture and description in a table
